Sam Surface
Sam is a born and raised resident of Washington County. He started his legal career for the Honorable Kenneth J. Maas at the Stillwater courthouse and followed that up working for a local Stillwater law firm.
In 2005, Sam opened up his law practice in Stillwater where he has been representing clients ever since. Over his career, Sam has handled thousands of criminal, family, probate and civil litigation matters.
He has won numerous criminal cases, order for protection and harassment restraining order cases, and has even won six-figure civil jury trials. If you need someone to represent you in Court, there’s a good chance Sam is the attorney to represent you.
When Sam isn’t busy with work, he enjoys living in Stillwater and coaching youth sports for the St. Croix Valley Athletic Association. Rebecca A. Waxse is originally from Kansas City but moved to Minnesota for law school and has made Minnesota her home. She graduated from Hamline Law School in 2006 where she was the Articles Editor of the Journal of Public Law and Policy. Since graduation from law school she has worked in the areas of criminal law, family law, and juvenile law. She is passionate about the practice law and working hard to protect her client’s rights.
Rebecca has handled a wide variety of criminal cases ranging from major violent felonies to minor traffic cases. Her experience includes defending individuals charged with sexual, physical, and domestic assault, violation of no contact orders, violation of orders for protection, theft offenses, drug offenses, criminal vehicular operation, DWI, and disorderly conduct. Rebecca has successfully litigated numerous jury and court trials, contested omnibus issues, and probation violations.
Rebecca also has experience in a wide variety of family law issues. Her experience includes handling divorce, child custody, parenting time, paternity, child support, child protection, and termination of parental rights. She is an experienced litigator but believes that individuals are in the best position to determine what is in their family’s best interest.
